The South Azerbaijani activist was sentenced to 4 years in prison

Akbar Muhajiri, a South Azerbaijani activist living in Tabriz, was sentenced to four years in prison.

The immigrant was charged with “propaganda against the regime” and was sentenced to three years in prison and one year in prison.

It should be noted that Akbar Muhajiri, along with 8 other Azerbaijani national activists, was detained by security forces during the protests in April 1998, when he did not take part in the protests. Tabriz Information Agency forces raided Muhajiri’s house, beat him in front of his family and arrested him. The migrant was detained in the solitary confinement cell of the Tabriz Information Office for 75 days after his arrest.
