Two national activists supporting the Azerbaijani Army summoned to Ardabil Security Department for interrogation

3 November

Azerbaijani activists living in Ardabil, Hamid Adib Shafag and Isa Azizi, were summoned to the Ardabil Security Department for questioning on November 3, the GADTB news center reported.

Security forces interrogated the national activists for five hours and threatened them.

Azerbaijani activists have been repeatedly detained and threatened by security forces for their peaceful activities in the field of civil society.

It should be noted that after the regular operation to liberate the occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh by the Azerbaijani Army, a wave of protests swept through various Azerbaijani cities due to Iran’s logistical assistance to Armenia.

Protesting national activists have faced widespread arrests, forced calls and telephone threats by Iranian security forces.

According to human rights organizations, 150 Azerbaijani activists were detained during protest rallies in Azerbaijani cities.
