The rector of the West Azerbaijan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services said:
“Six districts in the north, south and center of the province are now in the red because of the coronavirus.”
Javad Agazadeh told Farsnews:
“These cities are Urmu, Khoy, Mianduab, Mahabad, Sardasht and Salmas, where the highest coronavirus seizures were recorded.”
He noted: “Among these cities, the Sardasht region is of particular importance due to the special situation and the presence of more than 50 percent of the 400 chemical war veterans with lung damage.”
Agazadeh pointed to the number of new cases of coronavirus in the province:
“With the arrest of 284 people in Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the total number of people hospitalized has reached 1494.”
