Al-Ahwaziyah political prisoner Yaqub Hor in Denmark enters the tenth day of his hunger strike

In Denmark

Political activist Yaqub Hur al-Tastri, arrested in Denmark, entered the tenth day of his hunger strike to protest the extension of his detention and the conditions in prison. He emphasized that there was no evidence that he had been detained.

Yaqub al-Tastri is the spokesman for the Arab struggle for the liberation of Ahwaz. He was arrested by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service last February, and two of his comrades, including Habib al-Jabr, the movement’s leader, and his brother Nasser al-Jabr, were charged with spying for Saudi Arabia.

Issa al-Fikr, a member of the movement’s media outlet in the Netherlands who hosts a television program aired on Ahvazna TV and was very popular in Iran and on social media, is also among those detained.

Jacob Horr’s lawyer, Carolyn Norman, also confirmed to the media in an annual letter that her client was on a hunger strike at her detention center.

On the other hand, Mr. Hor, Shima Habib,’s wife, expressed concern about his condition and explained that he wanted his release and that of his detained comrades. “There is no evidence to substantiate their allegations, and Ms. Habib quoted her husband as saying, ‘These allegations are baseless.’

In this regard, Denmark announced in October 2018 that the Iranian intelligence service had attempted to assassinate Habib al-Jabr, the leader of the Arab movement for the liberation of Ahwaz.

At the time, Denmark summoned its ambassador from Tehran and announced that it had worked closely with a number of European countries to contain the Iranian threat.

In 2017, Al-Ahwazi political activist Ahmed Molly was assassinated in The Hague, the Netherlands, and Dutch Foreign Minister Steve Block said in a speech to parliament that the Dutch intelligence service had “strong evidence of Iranian involvement in the assassination.”
