Hamid Mohammad Taghizadeh, an Azerbaijani nationalist nicknamed “Duman Muallim”, was arrested in Tabriz on Sunday for supporting Azerbaijan’s just position and condemning the crimes of the occupying Armenians.
Simultaneously with the beginning of rallies in the cities of South Azerbaijan on October 18 to protest against the sending of military equipment from Iran to Armenia through the Norduz border, many national activists were detained by Iranian security forces and taken to unknown places throughout the country.
It should be noted that the fate of many detainees in Tabriz and other cities in South Azerbaijan is still unknown, and all detained activists have been severely physically abused by government forces, both during their detention and at the base of the Security Department.
