Mehdi Salimi has been released from Evin Prison

Mehdi Salimi is a researcher, translator of philosophical and literary works.

According to the ANT XA Telegram Channel, Salimi was detained for 41 days and released on bail from Evin Prison on the 27th of Murdad until his trial on bail.

Mehdi Salimi’s brother, Jalal Salimi, shared a post on his Instagram page saying that his brother Mehdi had been released from Evin Prison on the 27th of Murdad, pending a court hearing on bail of 500 million tomans.

On the 17th of Tire, Mehdi Salimi was arrested by security officials at his home in Ahar and taken to Tabriz, from where he was flown to Tehran’s Evin Zinadan.

Mr Salimi was charged with “propaganda against the order”, “assembly and conspiracy against the government” and “insulting the saints”.
