In an interview with IRNA today, MP Veli Ismayili from Germi said that appeals on the establishment of customs in the Germi region were being considered.
“During the eighth session, the issue of reopening the old customs in the Azadli region of Germ was raised, but despite the consent of Iran, the issue of establishing customs in the designated place did not materialize due to the opposition of Azerbaijan.
He said: “From the first days of the 11th session, I tried to raise this legitimate desire of the people of Germi, and after the efforts of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the Azerbaijani side also agreed to establish customs in the Germi border.”
“Currently, consultations are underway to determine the location for the construction of a customs building on the border with Azerbaijan in the Germi region,” he said.
