The 103rd Department of the Parsabad City Criminal Court sent the case of Azerbaijani cultural activist Seyid Reza Seyid Nuri to the Revolutionary Court due to his lack of authority.

The judge, who is investigating the case, said in a statement received by Seyyed Reza Seyid Nuri through the SANA system of the Emergency Situations Ministry and sent to the 103rd Department of the Parsabad Criminal Court on January 10 to defend himself.

Seyyid Nuri was detained during rallies in support of the liberation of occupied Karabakh on October 18 last year, and was released a day later on bail of 70 million tomans until the end of the trial.

The Azerbaijani activist was charged with “propaganda against the regime,” “insulting Khomeini,” and “insulting Khamenei.”

During the Azerbaijani Army’s operation to liberate occupied Karabakh, the Iranian government sent weapons, regular supplies and logistical assistance to Armenia, sparking protests in most Azerbaijani cities, with Iranian security forces cracking down on the protests, calling Azerbaijani activists and threatening them over the phone.
