The head of the East Azerbaijan Road and Motor Transport Department said:
“Due to the spread of the coronavirus and the resulting restrictions, the number of passengers from the border terminals of the province this year was 37,735, which is a decrease of more than 95 percent compared to the same period last year.”
Orujali Alizadeh said at a press conference on Tuesday:
“Over the past year, 97,000 trucks have moved from the Julfa and Norduz border terminals. This year, 59,000 trucks, 29,500 of which were Iranian and the rest were foreign, crossed the Iranian-Armenian border at the Norduz border terminal, and 13,000 Iranian and 38,000 foreign trucks crossed the Julfa border with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”.
According to him, during that period, the volume of goods and exports from the Norduz border terminal was 619,600 tons, and the amount of transit goods entering and leaving the terminal was 41,000 tons.
