The tombstone of Aziz Purvali was vandalised

South Azerbaijani activist

The tombstone of the South Azerbaijani activist Aziz Purvali was vandalised by unknown people.

It was stated that a protest poem was written in Azerbaijani Turkish on the demolished tombstone. In recent months, Iranian security forces have been asked to replace the tombstone.

It should be noted that the destruction and insulting of the graves of political, national activists and people of other religions fighting against the government in Iran has been repeated many times in recent history.

It should be noted that Aziz Purvali died on May 23, 2019 in Tabriz. He was buried in the “Valley of Mercy” cemetery in Tabriz. On the eve of the funeral, Iranian security forces pressured national activists and arrested several of them.
