Extensive slogans were written on the walls of Ardabil to stop the investment that led to the collapse of Savalan.
Cultural and social activists of Ardabil also joined the protests against the destruction of Mount Savalan in other regions of South Azerbaijan.
The slogans written on the walls are:
“Stop investing in the destruction of Savala”, “Let’s protect Savala, save the future of our children”, “Mountain, sea, forest – let’s unite hand in hand for a natural environment!”, “Get out of Savalan”, “Let’s say no to the destruction of natural habitats by changing And other similar slogans.
The issue that caused the protests is the recent publication of footage of a large-scale road operation on the slopes of Mount Savalan. According to local media reports, despite warnings from cultural and social activists, district officials insist on continuing the project.
It should be noted that Ardabil is among the regions deprived of public services in the country. Due to the non-standard roads connecting the region, especially on the Ardabil-Mugan road, despite the high statistics of numerous road accidents and deaths, officials are indifferent.
