According to the Fars news agency from Urmia and quoting the public relations of the Agricultural Jihad of West Azerbaijan, Rasoul Jalili stated:
“Unexpectedly enters the agricultural sector of the province, in this regard, the participation of farmers in the agricultural sector, training and awareness of farmers to deal with and also reduce the amount of damage to this sector is necessary”.
He added: “In the current crop year, the level of insurance for agricultural, horticultural and livestock products, compared to the area under cultivation, is about 10%, and farmers and ranchers should pay serious attention to insuring their products.”
He said: “According to the forecasts of the General Meteorological Department, the amount of rainfall in the early part of the new crop year will be about 10% less than normal, and the nature of nature is that many events are unpredictable, so farmers are expected to plant crops on time They should be more careful about insuring their products so that they can benefit from government support incentives in the event of damage.
He described the lack of timely allocation of financial and credit resources by the government to the Agricultural Insurance Fund to compensate part of the damage to farmers as one of the important challenges in developing the culture of agricultural insurance industry in the province and added: Creating a culture to promote agricultural insurance is effective in reducing the effects of natural hazards in the province’s agricultural sector.
The head of the West Azerbaijan Agricultural Jihad Organization stressed:
“Insurance provides a basis for further investment in agriculture by creating a safe environment and provides the conditions for achieving development.”
