HOUSE RENT PRICES IN URMIA HAVE INCREASED

By 10 percent to 100 percent

House rents in Urmia have broken records in recent months.

Over the past year, rents  in Urmia, as in many other parts of Iran, have risen by 10 percent to 100 percent.

Especially in recent months, homeowners have reduced the amount of deposits and prefer to increase rents. Also, because this area is not controlled by the state, prices are regulated by homeowners.

Thus, a house with a deposit of 5 million tomans and 100,000 tomans last year is now rented to Urmia for 20 million tomans and 500,000 tomans.

The average monthly rent of a 70-100-meter house in this city is between 2.5 million tomans. While the average monthly income of citizens is 2-3 million tomans, it is obvious that rents are expensive.
