The Deputy Governor of West Azerbaijan for Economic Affairs said: “Currently, 186 mines in the province are inactive and according to the presidential directive, these mines should be demolished or handed over to new people.”

According to the Mehr news agency quoting the West Azerbaijan governor’s office, Nader Sadeghi on Saturday evening in a meeting to review the problems of the province’s mines, referring to the existence of rich mines in the province and the need to use the capacity of these mines to create new employment opportunities, added: These mines are inactive and the problems of these mines must be solved and exploited again.

He stated that the agencies related to the province’s mines have identified the issues and problems of the province’s stagnant mines so that a decision can be made on the activities of these mines in the meeting of the provincial mines council. Assign a new one.

The Deputy Governor of West Azerbaijan for Economic Affairs Coordination stressed:

“Mines have a lot of added value in today’s world and we should not allow inactive mines in the province.”

The Deputy Minister of Mining Affairs of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan also said in this meeting that the province with one billion and 214 million tons of proven reserves of various minerals is one of the most important provinces in the field of mineral storage and diversity. Parisa Abedpour stated that exploration licenses have been issued for 38 new mining areas in the past year: 39 exploration areas have been put into operation after receiving a discovery certificate.

He added: During this period, 44 mines were fully exploited, which provided direct employment for 300 people in these mines with a extraction volume of 749,350 tons per year.

Abedpour announced the investment of more than 366 billion Tomans in this sector and said: the export of raw minerals from the province and the country will deal a major blow to the foundations and economic incomes of the province and even the country.
