Imprisoned national activist Alirza Farshi has been transferred to a new building

Fashafuya prison

Alireza Farshi, a well-known activist arrested in Iran for peacefully fighting for Azerbaijan’s national identity, has been transferred to the second building of the Fashafuya prison.

The national activist contacted his relatives and said that he was transferred from the quarantine department of the “Fashafuya” prison to the 2nd hall of the 2nd building.

Farshi was illegally transferred from Evin Prison in Tehran to Fashafou Prison on September 8.

Despite the fact that the prison does not have the necessary standards for the detention of prisoners, the principle of keeping prisoners in separate buildings for the crime is not observed.

When the family of the national activist appealed to the sentencing department of the Baharistan Revolutionary Court in Tehran to ask why he had been transferred to the Fashafu prison, court officials claimed that they were unaware of the matter.

According to the family, Farshi’s transfer to the new prison is completely illegal and was carried out by the Tehran Security Department.

Alireza Farshi’s transfer to Fashafu Prison is believed to be linked to earlier letters of protest to court officials. Thus, the officials of the Security Department wanted to put pressure on Farshi by keeping him in more difficult conditions.

Fashafuya prison officials also prevented the national activist from sending an open letter to the chairman of the Iranian judiciary and returned it to Farshi.
In an open letter to Ibrahim Raisi, Farshi commented on the illegal actions of Iranian security forces against him and demanded that action be taken.

A national activist detained by Iranian security forces in Tehran on July 21 was sentenced to two years in prison and two years in exile for attending an International Mother Language Day ceremony in 2014.
