Azerbaijani student and activist

Azerbaijani student and activist Parisa Rafiia was told that a new case was opened against her in Evin Prison on the 29th of Murdad.

Gazi Haji Muradi, the head of the 2nd Department of the House Prison, charged Parisa Rafi, who was detained on January 19, 1398, with “propaganda against the order” for publishing letters about the condition of the place where the prisoners are kept, the pressure on the prisoners and “verification of virginity.”

Relatives of Parisa Rafi said that she wanted her lawyer, Mr. Nili, to appear in court at the trial, but the judge said that you could only choose from the lawyers we had appointed.

It should be noted that Parisa Rafii was arrested by security officers on June 6, 1396 and detained for 23 days and released on bail.

She was later sentenced by the 28th Department of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran in Aban in 1998 to a total of seven years in prison and 74 lashes by Gazi Magisa on charges of assembly, conspiracy and propaganda, and violations of public order.

The verdict was upheld by the Supreme Court and pardoned in Azer in the same year, reducing the sentence to one year.

Finally, on July 17, 1399, Parisa Rafii was summoned to the Evin Prison’s Execution Department and transferred to the Women’s Prison of the same prison to serve her sentence.
